From Brisbane to California, for UQ Electrical Engineering graduate.

Mio Nakatsuji-Mather completed a CEED project with renewable energy technology company, Redflow in 2011.  Mio's project was completed as her final year Electrical Engineering thesis at UQ.  You can read all about Mio's project in an enews article -  click here.

In early 2016, Mio contacted CEED to update us on what has happened since her project.

"I just wanted to drop a line to say a big thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a CEED student 5 years ago.  I'm still with Redflow and have been working for them in California for the past year.  I highly doubt I would have been able to do this so early in my career if it wasn't for CEED, so just wanted to say thanks and hope all is well with you."

Upon asking Mio about her role with Redflow in San Francisco, she replied "I'm more of a sales engineer, but I play the role of first-response technical support in the Americas region.  Primarily, my job is associated with sales for Redflow in the region, which involves interfacing with customers, and building relationships with partners, such as system integrators who use our batteries in their own packaged energy storage systems.

As part of this, I attend several conferences and trade shows each year to showcase Redflow's products to the energy storage industry, but also learn more about developments and progress made by others in the field.  As part of my secondary technical support role, I travel to new customers and assist them with commissioning Redflow's batteries and providing training to operators."

Mio also sent us some recent photos of her life in San Francisco (shared with her permission!).  Looks like graduate life is going well for Mio.  We love hearing about where life takes our past CEED students!
